Bryce's 1st Birthday!

Here's how the birthday boy spent his special day...

Woke up after a full nights sleep to a breakfast of toast in the shape of 1s, bananas & strawberries.

I taught Stroller Strides in the morning and did this little birthday chant I found on Pinterest while the moms were doing step ups...
"I don't know what I've been told (repeat),
Someone here is 1 year old! (Repeat),
The bad news is we sing of key (repeat),
The good news is we sing for free (repeat),
Happy Birthday! (Repeat)
Happy Birthday Bryce!

Fun at the park after stroller strides!

1st time sitting there all by himself :)

He went down the slide all by himself! He looked scared, but kept wanting to do it again.

After his nap we went to Blue Heaven for frozen yogurt.

For dinner he had one of his favorites. Spaghetti, peas & bread & butter.

Addie helped pick out a couple new books for Bryce. Addie is fascinated with trucks and construction diggers so she's enjoying them too :)

It's been a very fun (sometimes challenging) year. We love watching him learn & grow. He has quite the funny personality already! I'm excited to hear what word he starts saying next...I bet it will be "Addie!"

Happy 3rd Birthday Addie!

On May 15th, Addie turned 3!
A few days before her birthday I had found a birthday questionaire on Pinterest and asked her all of the following questions. She pretty much had a quick response for each question and kept wanting me to ask her more questions when I was done with this list :) My favorite one is her answer to what she wants to be when she grows up..."a big girl!" :)

What do you want to be when you grow up? A big girl

Addie's morning started with a surprise waiting for her outside her bedroom door. I've had something like this pinned on Pinterest for a few years now and felt this year she would actually enjoy it :) She came downstairs and said to me "what is that Mommy?" I told her it was her birthday surprise! It's a few days after her birthday now and the streamers are still hanging :)

I love this comparison picture. You can see how much she has grown! At 2 years she was 21.6lbs and 32 inches. At 3 she is 26.6lbs and 35.25 inches. Her pediatrician says she is growing perfectly and has bumped up to the 10% for weight and is in the 10% for height.

I had nothing planned in the morning so I asked her what she wanted to do. She wanted to go to the little cart store (Kroger) and bake cupcakes. She does so well pushing her own little grocery cart around.

She helped with every step...

and loved blowing candles out so much that we did it two times that day (and more to come at her bday party!).

That morning Daddy was in court for work and came home with a Hello Kitty Edible Arrangement that Grandma Holman had ordered for her. She loves fruit!

Later that afternoon we took her to Chuck E Cheese. She had so much fun :)

That night Addie got to stay up just a little later than usual. Right when I was about to take her upstairs to go to bed the tornado sirens went off! We got everything ready to go sit in the bathroom and got Bryce out of bed, but luckily the storm did not pass over our area like we thought it was going to.

Addie had a great birthday and is looking forward to her party in just over a week!

Bryce's 1st Haircut

Addie & I took Bryce to get his first haircut this afternoon. He did really well! He only got a little squirmy towards the end. Now I think he looks even more like his Daddy :)

Easter 2013

Pictures from all of the fun we had this Easter.

Wednesday Addie and Bryce got to play and hunt for eggs with their Stroller Strides friends.
Addie was a pro this year hunting eggs :)
Bryce sat and watched all the action and was happy that Addie shared a few eggs with him :)
All the little cuties!

On Friday morning, Addie, Bryce and I drove to Tyler to spend a couple days with Grandma and Grandpa Roan. Daddy unfortunately couldn't join us because he was keeping Irving safe Friday and Saturday.

They had fun playing at the park...

So did Mommy & Uncle Andrew...

 Grandpa showed off for everyone...

Bryce checking out the toy box.

Sitting by the hot tub...still just a little to cold to swim.

Saturday morning we colored Easter eggs. Addie did a great job!

So pretty!

Walking back from the playground at the apartment.

There was no need for toys for Bryce...he found his own entertainment :)

Uncle Andrew got Addie a kite for Easter. I don't think it was quite windy enough the day we tried flying it. I was doing laps around the tennis court just to keep it up in the air!

After dinner on Saturday we left to come back home so we could go to church at home on Easter with Daddy. Bryce slept the whole way home and Addie slept about half the way. Of course they were wide awake and not wanting to go back to sleep when we got back. I think it was 10pm by the time both were sound asleep for the night.

Easter morning Addie woke up to eggs place all around the house. She was so excited :)

All dressed up for church.

It's really hard to catch them both looking and smiling at the same time :)

 Happy Easter!

After church we went and got Addie and Bryce's gift...a fish. He's a red and silver betta, so we thought it was appropriate to name him Buckeye! Addie loves him...

and so does Ziva...if she could only get her paws on him ;)

Pickle Palooza!

Yesterday Addie was so excited about the Pickle Palooza and was talking about it all day. I was able to catch a clip of it on video :)

Today was full of Pickle Palooza fun! Addie, Bryce & I started the day off with a little 5K run. This was Bryce's first time riding in a race and Addie's second. We were able to snag a picture with the pickle before the race began :)

The race went great. Despite pushing a stroller, I ran one of the fastest 5Ks I've run! All the excitement of the race pushed me to go faster, and I was trying to keep up with the other double stroller runner right in front of me :)

Addie re-hydrating after a 3.1 mile ride. Love the hand on the hip stance :)

After the race we headed back to the SUV and ate our lunch in the shade in the back :) Next up was walking in the Pickle Parade with Stroller Strides.

Hanging out before we lined up for the parade.

Bryce got a little nap in while waiting for the parade to begin.

Addie made herself quite comfortable :)

Stroller Striders lined up for the parade...

We were right behind the horses...notice the "pickle poop" sign ;)

Still waiting for the parade to get moving!

Managed to get him to keep this hat on long enough for a picture :)

The Pickle Queens :)

Waving to everyone in the parade...

It was a fun day. Addie and Bryce both went to bed early, and I'm about to too :)
